- Basic thermal modelling principles such as SAP, SBEM and dynamic simulation modelling (DSM)
- The meaning and importance of net zero carbon and how it applies to construction
- Current regulations, and how those regulations are expected to evolve over time
- Understanding and calculating U-values
- Insulation and weatherproofing of roofs, floors, and basements
- Windows and glazing options for retaining heat and daylighting
- Condensation and managing moisture in buildings
- Mechanical and electrical facilities management (M&E)
- Water heating
- Ventilation and the importance of indoor air quality (IAQ)
- Business and consultancy skills
